The jam session is ready to begin with you as the conductor! Designed for children ages three and up, Sesame Street: Music Maker is structured as an activity center, and features eight activities that expose you to a variety of musical concepts, including tempo, pitch, and the sounds many instruments make. These activities are all hosted by well-known Sesame Street Muppet characters, including Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie, and Grover, who guide and encourage you on your musical journey of discovery. The adventure begins in the Main Menu, depicted as a street surrounded by interesting places to visit. The Sesame Street Muppet characters welcome you and encourage you to select one of eight activities, each represented by a different building to travel to and explore. The eight activities are: Musical Stickers: You and Elmo visit six different scenes and create unique compositions with special "musical stickers." You can visit a tropical beach, a construction site, a kitchen, a western campfire, an underwater world, or a haunted house. Sing-Along with the Muppets: This is your opportunity to enter the Sesame Street recording studio and sing along with the Muppets. Select one of eight songs, and then choose to sing either with the characters or Karaoke style (just you and the music). When you select a song, the music plays and the lyrics appear at the bottom of the screen. World of Sound: This activity allows you to travel around the world, experiencing sounds from all kinds of places, from the zoo to the streets of the city. Grover greets you as you begin this activity. Rock n' Roll Jam Session: Join the Sesame Street band, with Elmo and Ernie on guitar, Grover on the keyboard and Cookie Monster on drums for an honest to goodness jam session. You can select from six different songs, change musicians and control the pitch and tempo of the instruments. The session takes place on stage. Studio 543: It's a night on the town with the Muppets as you dance and boogie at Studio 543. Cookie Monster is the DJ and plays the music, while Elmo and Grover teach you new dance moves. Elmo's Magic Music Machine: Elmo has a new Magic Music Machine, and he wants you to play with him. Using the machine, you can compose entire songs by selecting different instruments and performers. Worldly Instruments: Elmo, Ernie, and their well-traveled friend, Ms. Globe, will take you on a guided musical tour of the world. This activity will build your knowledge and recognition of many different and unusual musical instruments from all over the world. Ernie's World: Down in his basement, Ernie is plotting something mischievous. You have been invited down to visit him, along with many of his Muppet friends, to sing songs. With your help, Ernie will be changing the words to everyone's favorite songs to create new wacky variations. As you and the Muppets sing, the new lyrics appear at the bottom of the screen. The game is an interactive adventure in music that is designed to appeal to all children, regardless of their knowledge of music or the Sesame Street characters.
