Terminals should be color coded (white/brass) as is standard protocol for 112v systems.
2 of 3 found this helpful Its what you would expect from this type of product. I was quite surprised that the internal terminal markings were not a contrasting white and brass color as is typical of 112 v systems. Think wall outlets and such. You'll want to use your voltmeter if you are keeping circuits in check. If its for an extension cord, again you'll want to keep the white wire white, and black wire black.
