    A Viking Knarr was a type of Norse cargo ship used by the Vikings for trade, exploration, and settlement:
    Knarrs were used to transport goods like wool, timber, wheat, furs, and armor. They were also used to supply food, drink, weapons, and armor to warriors and traders. Knarrs were robust and could withstand unfavorable open sea conditions. Knarrs were shorter, deeper, and wider than longships, with a shallow hull that allowed them to travel up rivers and land on beaches. They were built using the same clinker-built method as other Viking ships. They were designed to scoop air in between waves so they could "surf" down them. Knarrs were operated by smaller crews than longships because they were more dependent on sail power.
