    The device is weird for Xperia Play: it has verizon Mark (so if should be r800x) but it has SIM card slot that is fully functional, it does not support custom kernels: the device freezes on kernel logo and won't go further. If you don't want to use custom kernel, but just custom rom (without custom kernel) or stock firmware you are good to go.
