I did not tighten the grips too tight, didn't want to warp the cross bar, which would prevent the float from working. this worked well. Also tied a piece of string around cross bar, so I could pull it up if I dropped it. Tightened screws as tight as I could get them. Hopefully no leaks. As directions said, I lubed the shafts with silicon.
