PiezoBarrel wind instrument pickups (microphones) are made in Brisbane, Australia. The pickups are unique in that they provide a simple way to convert a wind or brass instrument into an electric instrument without changing the feel or play-ability of the instrument, or its natural sound. The key advantages of PiezoBarrel pickups is that they require no battery, eliminate feedback and spill, and can be used directly with guitar effect pedals to take advantage of a high quality analog and digital signal processing capabilities. If fact PiezoBarrel pickups are built on the same technology that has revolutionized acoustic guitar pickups.Although originally developed for clarinet and bass clarinet, PiezoBarrel pickups can be used for a variety of wind instruments. In addition to the popular PiezoBarrel 'Wood', models such as the R1, P9 and P7 are now available to cater for the specific needs of instruments such as the recorder, trumpet and saxophone.
