I've installed 5x 8tb seagate barracuda drives and plugged it into a 5GB/s USB 3.2 port and the transfer speeds of data are around 200mb/s just as if the drives were attached to my motherboard with Sata cables. Plenty quick enough for backup storage. I love that it automatically turns off after about 10minutes of no use. Takes about 5 seconds or so to wake back up.
