  My home was built around 2006 and Lithonia Lighting Florescent lights were used under the cabinets. The ballast burned out in one of my 12" ones. This fixture is very close to the design of what I have and actually provides better light coverage for the affected area at 18". Beware that installing these under cabinets is moderately difficult. Overall though I am grateful to have been able to buy some time with this fixture instead of a full kitchen overhaul.
