The 2 pins are molded into the SAME plug. This makes things VERY difficult when using a GPU which requires an 8 pin as well as a 6 pin cable. I was FORCED to do one of two things. Either PHYSICALLY MODIFY the (supposed 6+2 plug) or purchase an adapter. Which is what I did. Unfortunately, the adapter cable is WHITE, while ALL other cables in my build are Black. I may go ahead and cut the plug, after verifying the pins.
