Thanks for a fascinating book in excellent condition. I grew up near RAF Oakington and was lulled to sleep every night by the mellow purr of the Vickers Varsities coming in to land with their flashing red tail lamps and twin Hercules engines. Although I was about twenty years too late to watch wartime Stirling bombers coming and going in their dozens, the Varsity must sound like half a Stirling, since they shared the same motor. Later on, I used the "closed road" to get to the pub. Best wishes.
