About us

DOWRY ANTIQUES STARTED IN 1976 as a family single owner antique shop. It was located in a huge re-purposed packing plant call KD STOCKYARDS STATION, later just called KD STATION. We were a 4500 square foot general antique shop with a little bit of everything. We had some vintage clothing and jewelry, but in 1981 I, (Diane) took it over as the rest of my family moved on to other things. At that time I really got into vintage clothing and jewelry. I also started renting costumes as I had purchased a huge costume collection. I changed the name to DOWRY ANTIQUES & COSTUMES. Years later a fire had caused KD STATION to close (the fire did not affect my store). With the help of many community people that had been customers I moved the shop to a 7,500 sq ft location.
