About us

I have always been a lover of art, especially paintings. As an undergraduate at Ohio State, I majored for a time in Art History, ultimately, however, graduating with a degree in English. Even though my primary job is that of a college English professor, my love of art and paintings has never left me. When, just over a year ago, I discovered a long-lost painting by prominent wildlife painter Richard Evett Bishop in a thrift store, I knew that my secondary job had become that of a buyer, seller, and collector of art.

These days I spend nearly all of my free time perusing all manner of antique, thrift, and secondhand stores in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, searching for beautiful paintings. I especially like to find works of art by those artists who, while not household names across the country, are especially well known in specific regions of America. Appalachian and Midwestern Folk Art is especially appealing to me. Occasionally, though, I still manage to find a pain
