    My compact, table Manfrotto VR tripod has arrived. So quick! More plastic than I would have liked but super rigid for anything but a monster rig. All works. Clearly, never taken apart to clean out the swarf. Remnants of original brass machining! Installing a Kirk quick release tripod head clamp is a job for a soft hammer and a vice. All now ready for use. Many thanks. It should serve very well.
