i started collecting before 1980 buying , swapping and selling to increase my own collection
during this time most dealers were ex military
of all the items i bought ,saw and handled , the only truely priceless items i gathered were stories
i have met members of the sas to ss , Royal Navy to Kriegsmarine u boat men , DFC to knights cross holders
and i didnt realise then how valuable those snippets of history shared in the form of short stories become ,
with meeting all types , listening to recounts of some truely historical events
,the best tales came from men & women of no notable rank or holder of decorations ,
just normal people doing what they had to do , and i know the most moving tales of bravery and unbelievable events remain untold
thats why i collect , buying & selling enables me to handle more
as objects are our link to history , thats why i only sell original items
a well worn badge with twisted or missing pin just confirms its history
