Learning History Can Be Fun
Antiques Academy - Students learn history, art appreciation and an understanding of what the heirloom object represents through the research of collectible and antique items. Knowledge is shared via a video about the item in some instances. Most Curated Collectibles will be sold to continue the hunt for new items.
We learn something new with each new item researched. Additional skills are developed including: identifying different kinds of antique or collectible objects, report writing, research using various computer programs, presentation and videography, conservation techniques for heirlooms/antiques, ideas for repurposing items without damaging the historical element, and business skills including teamwork, marketing, sales and book keeping.
