Founded in 1982, Clé de Peau is a skincare and makeup brand developed by Shiseido Cosmetics. French for "the key to the skin," the Clé de Peau makeup brand offers beauty and skin products designed to replenish and promote healthy skin. Shiseido was founded in 1872 and started as a pharmacy.

The color spectrum used in the Clé de Peau's Beauté makeup line offers several choices for different occasions. Some examples of their collections include light-reflecting eye quads, enriched lip luminizers, concealers, perfumes, gift sets, and others. Clé de Peau also offers a concealer formula that uses hyaluronic acid and green tea. It offers SPF protection and contains Chestnut Rosa Fruit Extract and Green Tea Extract to guard against oxidation. Concealer is used to mask skin imperfections by hydrating and refining the skin. Clé de Peau eye color quads use argan oil to refine, plump, and smooth the delicate skin around the eyes. Clé de Peau foundations use light-dancing technology, a technique designed to capture and reflect light on the skin to illuminate the complexion.
