How do I watch a thread on a discussion board?

If you want to know when users respond to a particular message thread in an eBay Discussion Board or Answer Centre topic, you can set up a watch.

A watch allows you to see at a glance, or be notified by email, if the topic you are interested in has been updated.

You can set up as many watches you want, and cancel watches at any time.

To set up a watched discussion board thread:

  1. In the discussion board, click on the link to the posting.

  2. Click the Watch this Question link. This adds this question to your personal list of Watches.

To see a list of your watched postings, go to the discussion board you are watching and click the Watches link at the top right side of the page.

Tip: You can automatically watch questions that you ask or that you reply to, by clicking the Preferences link and changing your Watch Settings.

To cancel or stop watching a thread:

  1. Go to the discussion board that you are watching.

  2. Click 'sign in' at the top left side of the discussion board page if you are not already signed in.

  3. Click the Watches link at the top right side of the page.

  4. Check the checkbox to the left of the discussion thread that you wish to stop watching.

  5. Click the Delete button at the bottom of the list of watched discussions.

Note: After 30 days of no activity (if no one has posted any answers to that question) the Watch on that thread will automatically expire.
