Managing your account information


You can manage your account information from My eBay. To go to My eBay, click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages.

Change your personal information

You can change your personal information, including your user ID, email address, password, secret question, phone number, PIN, and About Me page from the Personal Information section of My eBay.

To change your personal information:
  1. Go to My eBay > Account.

  2. Click Personal Information.

  3. Click the Edit link next to the information you want to update.


  • Don't use a fax or pager number as your telephone number.

  • If you change your email address, you'll need access to the updated email address to complete the process. The new address takes effect immediately.

  • Email addresses that automatically forward to another email address may cause emails from us to be blocked or sent to your junk mail folder.

Change your address

You can change your registration, payment, or primary shipping address from the Addresses section of My eBay.

To change your addresses:
  1. Go to My eBay > Account.

  2. Click Addresses.

  3. Click the Change link next to the address you want to update.

Note: If you need to change your name or country in your registration address, you'll be prompted to contact eBay Customer Support for assistance. We need to make sure that any changes comply with the eBay User Agreement, which states that accounts can't be transferred without eBay's consent.

You can change your email address from the Personal Information section of My eBay.

To change your email address:
  1. Go to My eBay> Account.

  2. Click Personal Information.

  3. Next to Registered email address, click Edit.

Change your communication preferences

You can change which notifications you receive and how often you receive them from the Communication Preferences section of My eBay.

To change your communication preferences:
  1. Go to My eBay > Account .

  2. Click Communication Preferences.

  3. Click the Show All link at the top of the page to see your current settings and change your preferences.

Manage your seller account

You can check your balance, change your automatic payment method, make a one-time payment, and more from the Seller Account section of My eBay.

To view and update your seller account information:
  1. Go to My eBay.

  2. Click the Account tab.

Manage your subscriptions

You can subscribe to any of eBay’s advanced selling tools, including Selling Manager and Sales Reports from the Subscriptions section of My eBay.

To manage your subscriptions:
  1. Go to My eBay > Account .

  2. Click Subscriptions.

Create a PIN

How do I create a PIN?

You can create a telephone PIN in My eBay.

To change or create a telephone PIN:
  1. Go to My eBay > Account.

  2. Click Personal Information.

  3. Next to Telephone PIN, click the Create or Edit link and make your changes.

Requesting your personal data

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you at any time through your eBay account. It'll usually take a few days for the report to be available to download after you submit your request.

To submit a request from your eBay account:
  1. In My eBay, go to Account and select Personal information.

  2. Under Your eBay Data, click Edit.

  3. Follow the instructions to request your personal information.

If you don't have an eBay account, you can submit a request for a copy of your data. eBay is required to verify the identity of everyone to whom we release personal information. Please include your first name, last name, country of residence, and the email address you used for any guest transactions you have made. Before fulfilling your data request, we'll ask you for proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) to ensure that we are only releasing personal information to authorized parties.

The POI/POA you provide will be used solely for the purpose of identity verification related to this transaction (i.e. the release of personal information), and will be processed and stored in accordance with our User Privacy Notice.
