Universal Military Simulator. The original game was described as a wargame construction kit and UMS II: Nations at War continues the concept with updated mechanics and three scenarios that basically showcase the capability of the game. The simulator is part of the MicroPlay Software Masters of Strategy Series and contains a full complement of tools and instructions for recreating any historical battle based on actual events, modified historical battles with "what if" scenarios, fictional alternative history battles (e.g., Caesar's Roman army vs. General George Custer) and fantasy-based battles, all of which are limited only by the user's imagination. The massive database includes 127 nations, 32,000 military units and over 500 provinces. User developed orders of battle are totally customizable with four levels of command with battlefield size ranging from eight miles per square to an entire planet. Naval, ground and air campaigns can be created with levels of detail including localized weather patterns, armed forces size, strength, readiness levels and morale, adjustable terrain settings and more. Game control is completely menu driven with both mouse and keyboard support.
