Trophy Bass: All American Sports Series, a re-release of the original 1995 Trophy Bass, offers a chance to gas up the boat and look for lunker bass from the comfort of your computer. Forget about the hassle of sharp hooks and untangling fishing line in inclement weather. Gameplay is offered on five lakes styled after real locales with three different styles of play: Fish a Lake, Tournament and Career. Fish a Lake is a non-competitive fishing excursion where settings can be altered to provide practice in varying conditions. After gaining experience, single tournament or career modes offer challenges in achieving the B.A.S.S. Hall of Fame. Short animated demonstrations illustrate the art of casting, automatic and custom, allowing cyber-anglers to plunge directly into the action. The navigation map and fish finder indicates prime fishing locations and presents an overhead 2D view of the bass filled area. Trophy Bass: All American Sports Series comes with a virtual tackle box of lures, rods and lines modeled after real products. Anglers can choose from seven different lure types with 35 variants and 37 colors to attract prize-winning fish. Lucky lures are attached to 20 different types of rods, each unique in line weight, action and style. Action is customizable down to the amount of drag on a line and reeling speed. Five different casting types ranging from the short, accurate and quiet "flipping" style to the long, occasionally accurate and splashy two-handed method are available. Setting the hook is accomplished by quickly dragging the mouse down and using the left mouse button to haul in the catch. Score well in the B.A.S.S. endorsed tournaments and you may find yourself Angler of the Year. An online manual describes nearly every facet of the game and a fishing guide offers verbal tips on lures and likely spots to find bass. Like the original 1995 game, no multiplayer options are available. With a license no longer needed, no maximum number of catches and no waiting for perfect weather, fishing season has been extended to 365 days a year!
