Super Pro Decathlon lets you and up to three friends compete in 10 track-and-field events. You can enter the Practice mode in order to train yourself on individual events, or you can go for broke and play the full 10-event Decathlon. Each event has a minimum time, distance, or height you must beat in order to qualify. Three difficulty levels are available: Amateur, Olympic and Super Pro. Events are as follows: 100 Meter Dash, Broad Jump, Shot-Put, High Jump, Triple Jump, 110 Meter Hurdles, Discus Throw, Pole Vault, Javelin Throw and 400 M. Dash. Most of the events require running, which is done by quickly tapping alternate sides of the disc repeatedly or by spinning the disc. Side buttons are also used for actions such as jumping hurdles and throwing the discus. For more powerful pole vaulting and high jumps, a side button must be pressed repeatedly. Shot putting does not require the use of side buttons as the shot is released automatically after you do a certain amount of disc spinning. You are given three attempts at each event with your best score being the only one that counts. The player with the highest number of points at the end of all 10 events wins the game.
