The SUPER P6DGH is II2O-ready. (I2O stands for Intelligent Input/Output.) It runs at a bus speed of 100 MHz and supports dual Pentium III/II 233 , 600 MHz processors. It is based on Intel 's 440 GX chipset, which enables AGP, 100MHz SDRAM, concurrent PCI and Ultra DMA 33 MB/s burst data transfer rate, Adaptec's onboard Dual channel Ultra2 SCSI controller AIC-7896, with transfer rate of up to 80 MB/s per channel and Wake-on-Lan (WOL). The board comes with 9 PCI slots (5 primary and 4 secondary), 1 AGP and 2 ISA slots.The I2O architecture of the SUPER P6DGH provides a standard way to off-load the I/O functions from the CPU, creating a direct I/O pipeline that no longer interrupts the host processor(s). This allows servers to process more transactions and focus on more complex data processing tasks. Besides delivering increased system performance, the I2O specification eliminates the need of having different drivers for each combination of operating system and SCSI or Network Interface Card. Because the drivers may be standardized and not rewritten for new operating system releases, drivers can become more highly optimized and robust, improving performance and reliability in mission-critical enterprise computing. The i960 RD I/O processor on the SUPER P6DGH runs at 66 MHz. The SUPER P6DGH provides an onboard Adaptec AIC-7896 Dual Channel Ultra II SCSI controller for a data transfer rate of up to 80 MB/s for each channel. The incorporated multi-channel Ultra II SCSI chip lowers the total cost of ownership in a high-end, high-performance server environment. In addition, support of Adaptec's ARO 1130-CA2 RAIDPort III increases I/O performance and fault tolerance for extended functionality.
