The popular Japanese series of role-playing games marks its third North American release with its first visit to the DS in Summon Night: Twin Age. The story follows a young girl named Reiha who, though talented at the magical art of summoning, caused an accident that sent her and the summoned creature Aldo to the tropical island Jarazi, where they grew up together as siblings. The island is protected by Nature Spirits, and populated by a race of humans with beastly features, but when the Spirits begin to act strangely Reiha and Aldo must investigate the causes by traveling to Clardona, the site of the summoning accident.<br><br>The stylus-heavy gameplay lets players attack enemies, heal allies, and use items with the flick of a wrist, while more in-depth exploration features allow gamers to craft their own weapons, summon beasts, build relationships with party members, and continuously improve skills. Two playable characters, a wide range of secondary party members, alternate story paths, and side quests mean Summon Night: Twin Age has several different ending sequences, and those who beat the game can play through it again with extra dungeons. There is no multiplayer support, but gamers can trade items using a local wireless connection.
