Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a role-playing game that features the real-time battling system of every Star Ocean game that came before, though this Star Ocean game is quite unique. Star Ocean: The Last Hope is actually a prequel—taking place several centuries before the first Star Ocean game—starting in the year SD 10 (2087 AD). Most of the earth’s population was killed in and after World War III, which took place in the year 2064. Because of the deteriorating conditions of our home planet, the protagonists of this Star Ocean game must leave their underground city and look for a new home planet for Earth’s dwindling population. Players of Star Ocean: The Last Hope for Xbox 360 command and pilot their own spaceship to fly through what is known as the Star Ocean. The plotline focuses on Space Captain Edge and his team, who must face the shadowy adversary known as the Grigori in this action-packed sci-fi RPG.
