NotesDigitally remastered and expanded edition of the veteran singer/songwriter's 1991 album. Gilbert's Sounds of the Loop was his 10th studio album, and was named after a 1957 Dave Brubeck track featuring drummer Joe Morelo that Rick Davies played to Gilbert in the mid-1960s. Recorded at the singer's home studio in Jersey, this wide-ranging record featured "Can't Think Straight", a duet with the singing legend Peggy Lee. Sounds of the Loop was released in Japan in November 1991 and in the absence of a UK record deal, by Gilbert's friend John Dagnell on his own label, Park Records, 18 months later in April 1993. It received some of the best reviews of Gilbert's career. Salvo.
