"The Sims 2: FreeTime" is the seventh expansion pack released for "The Sims 2" on the PC. Like other Sims expansion packs, such as "Bon Voyage" and "Pets," "The Sims 2: FreeTime" was developed by Maxis. The expansion was published by Electronic Arts. As the name suggests, this expansion puts a major emphasis on your Sim's free time. Every new object somehow enhances their time at leisure. With more than 100 new objects and clothing items included in this add-on, you'll find an activity your Sim is sure to love.The first new feature you likely notice with "The Sims 2: FreeTime" is the arrival of a new neighborhood. Desiderata Valley incorporates all the new features of this game into one location. You find an array of community lots in this zone, ranging from parks to community kitchens. If you want to jump right in and experience this pack to its fullest, then move your Sims to Desiderata Valley. Once you start playing, a new bar is added to your screen. The Lifetime Aspiration bar keeps a record of how happy your character has been throughout his or her entire life. This bar starts tracking your Sim's mood from the moment he is born into the world as a baby. The happier your character is, the more Lifetime Aspiration points you gain. Spend these points on rewards like extra vacation time or decreasing the decay of your Needs bars. If your Sim maintains his happiness for an extended period, he or she reaches the Perma-platinum mood. This mood state keeps your Sim in high spirits no matter what happens.Hobbies play a huge role in "The Sims 2: FreeTime." There are 10 different hobbies a character is able to participate in. These hobbies range from cooking to gaming. Sims who master a hobby gain access to an exclusive members' club for that activity. In this secret lot, you find an array of items to help increase your Sim's statistics. This game also places emphasis on friendship. The new BFF feature allows you to designate another character as your best friend. BFFs never stop being friends with your character, and the two friends share unique interactions. Sims now can select up to three other Sims to grow up with them when they age. This feature allows you to maintain a group of friends for one character throughout his or her entire life.The last major feature is the Genie. Sims who stumble upon the lamp are granted three wishes. Sims wish for concepts such as unlimited money. However, be careful, as sometimes the wish can go awry.
