The 19mm f/2.8 DN lens is part of the 'Art' class of fast prime lenses developed by Sigma. It is suitable for Micro Four Thirds cameras and the E-mount system of the Sony NEX series, providing the equivalent angle of view as a 38mm lens on the former system, and 28.5mm on the latter. Its aperture gives an ideal shallow depth of field with the image being sharp even when wide open at f/2.8. In addition, Sigma's Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces ghosting and flare, with chromatic aberrations being reasonably controlled. Landscapes and group shots are possible with barely any distortion. The minimum focusing distance of 20cm provides the potential for good close-ups or even macro, while the quiet linear AF motor enables video recording. Overall, the Sigma 19mm f/2.8 DN lens is a dependable general-purpose lens with great optical performance, fast autofocus, and good build quality.
