Product Information
Developer Visual Concepts' first soccer game offers three-on-three action with a choice of six exotic teams: El Fuego, Tsunami, Spirit, Volta, Sub Zero, and Toxic. Offbeat characters represent each squad, from a kilt-wearing Scotsman named Angus to a purple-skinned medicine man known as Djimon, each individually rated in speed, hitting, passing, shooting, and stealing. Four modes of play include Exhibition, Practice, Quest, and Tourney.

Exhibition lets players choose the teams, one of nine stadiums (three are initially available), and both field and weather conditions. Practice is a 16-lesson tutorial designed to familiarize players with the controls, while Tourney is a five-day event with all six teams playing each other in a round-robin format. Quest is the heart of the game, consisting of a ten-game season as players attempt to win the coveted Continental Cup.

Successful moves such as passes, one-timers, dekes, and steals are rewarded with points, which in turn increases a team's power-up potential. Each team has a distinct power-move, such as Volta's electricity charge or Tsunami's wave attack. Moves can also be chained together to form combos. Each game played in the Quest mode earns players cash used to purchase additional items such as ability-enhancing equipment or concept art.

Soccer Slam also features a moving spotlight that makes its way across the field during matches, allowing players who kick while underneath it to perform powerful shots in slow-motion. A two-player shot dubbed the "Killer Kick" can also be initiated once a team's power meter is filled, resulting in one player lobbing the ball in the air while a teammate jumps and performs an aerial maneuver that kicks the ball toward the goal.Product Identifiers
