The Seagate Momentus is an internal hard drive that offers users 250 GB of memory capacity. The hard drive is intended for use in computer systems. Connection to a user system is accomplished by the Seagate 250 GB hard drive via a SATA/300 interface. Data transfer rates for the unit is up to 3 GBps. Files stored can be accessed at a spindle speed of up to 7200 RPM. The cache on the unit supplies 16 MB of buffer memory. Latency time used by the Seagate Momentus is 4.17 ms with a 11 ms random read seek time and a 13 ms random write seek time. The unit has a 2.5-inch form factor. Features present on the Seagate 250 GB hard drive include Native Command Queuing, Full Disc Encryption technology, and Free Fall Protection. The unit has low power consumption, state-of-the-art error correction, and a fluid dynamic bearing motor. The internal hard drive supports S.M.A.R.T. drive monitoring and reporting as well as the ability to read multiple and write multiple commands. Other features on the Seagate 250 GB hard drive include 1,000 Gs non-operating shock tolerance and 350 Gs operating shock tolerance.
