Redline is a combination of a first-person shooter and a car battle game with multiplayer options. Drive and shoot at the same time, with big explosions! That's the basic plot of this title brought to you by Electronic Arts. Based on urban warfare in the not-too-distant future, the opening few seconds of the game set the scene with a radio announcement explaining why you should shoot anything that moves. The post-apocalyptic world is full of gang warfare and extreme violence and you work for The Company -- a nebulous organization that operates a protection racket.<br><br>There are 12 single player missions to complete using a choice of 10 vehicles, all of which are armed to the teeth. The general aim is to infiltrate a sector, eliminate something or someone, perhaps steal a vital item, then escape. The action takes place both in the driving mode and on foot. A vehicle's weaponry and armor can be used to deal with large enemies and then the player can go on foot to chase smaller foes or get into hard to reach places.
