Reading Blaster 6-9 is an educational game from Davidson, a sequel to Reading Blaster 4-6 and once again starring Galactic Commander, Spot and Blasternaut. Players can either play in Free-For-All mode or Challenge mode. In Free-For-All mode, players can play the games in any order but can only play each game once per play. Players are scored on each game separately. In Challenge mode, players play each game through once, pitted either against a friend or a computer generated baddie. At the end of the game, players must run a race against their opponent using the two keys they are assigned to run and jump over the various obstacles. There are four games players can try. In Commercial Studio, players must construct a TV commercial around one of the products shown, picking the product name from either a list or the background, music and phrases used to advertise the product (which is never mentioned by name). In Word Zapper, players must play a Missile Command-type game, defending their three spaceships from falling asteroids. Meanwhile, they must also let the letters through that will help them spell the word appearing on the screen above the action. They must only let the letters they need come through while destroying the rest. In Media Madness, players must make matches in a memory-type game. Players must click on the ten screens to see words and hear sounds or see beginnings and endings of statements. After they make all five matches, players can move on to the bonus round. Here players must click on words that appear on the screens according to the clue that the hosts give you. For example, animals or even words that end with a specific sound. Players must avoid clicking on the bad guys or any words that don't match the clue; otherwise, the bonus round ends. Finally, in Get a Clue, players must use the clues given to isolate the alien that holds the key to the Puzzle Room. Once players have gotten the key, they must add the words to the missing spaces in the puzzles. Players must get each one right and complete the second one within the time limit to win big.
