Pro Train: Rhine Valley Cologne-Frankfurt is the first commercially offered German-made add-on for Microsoft Train Simulator. More than 250 miles of track, stretching from Cologne to Frankfurt, traverse the beautiful Rhine Valley with stops at Bonn, Mainz, Koblenz, and Wiesbaden. Control the Siemens and Adtranz ICE-3 403/406 train developed for the Deutsche Bahn AG at speeds up to 205 miles per hour, along with Series E 103 engines and carriages.<br><br>Drive the morning passenger train from the main station at Cologne to the main terminal in Frankfurt while maintaining a timetable, stopping at major cities along the way, passing slower moving regional trains, and accommodating short-notice signal changes. Other challenges include moving a regional train from Frankfurt to Cologne during a heavy snowstorm, taking the same route at night through intermittent rainstorms while watching for animals on the track, and taking photo-happy tourists on a smooth special train ride through the Rhine Valley.<br><br>The final challenge is taking control of an engine-operator shift through the entire valley, switching regional trains at various stations as you go from Cologne to Frankfurt, then back again driving an express. Your operational skills are rated at the end of each activity based on operating service, timetable/task accomplishments, obeying speed limits and signals, and general train operation. Critical mistakes, such as running a red signal, will end the mission.
