The classic pub/'parlor' game of darts is explored in Pro Darts, a darts simulation for the Game Boy Color. Developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Vatical Entertainment, Pro Darts offers 3D rendered artwork and real voice play back for scoring. It is the end of the 20th Century and the game of darts reigns supreme. The top darts players from around the world (and beyond) have gathered to compete for the title of Darts Master of the Millennium. The competition will be intense, and only one can win the title! Pro Darts features five different modes of gameplay and six types of games. Modes are: Practice (allows you to brush up on your throwing skills before the actual competition begins), Human (allows you to challenge another player to a game of darts), Computer Easy (go up against the computer with its weakest AI), Computer Medium (play the computer with a more competitive AI) and Computer Hard (you better practice if you plan on facing down this tough-as-nails opponent -- the computer at the hardest level). Gameplay is based on the classic sport of darts as well as several variations, you can choose from eight pre-generated characters to play and each player has three darts to throw per turn. A double bulls-eye is worth 50 points, the thin outer ring is worth twice the score, the thin inner ring is worth three time the number hit and tossing a dart outside the dart board scores no points. The six types of games include Cricket, Around the World, 301, 301 Double Out, 501 and 501 Double Out. Each game has it's own rules and scoring guidelines. At the end of each game statistics are displayed for the winner. You can switch between the character statistics by pressing left or right on the control pad. The eight dart masters that you can choose from (six regular and two hidden) each have their own unique attributes. A rating of these attributes (Power, Accuracy, Speed and Nerves) follows a brief profile of each player. Becky is a champion from the British darts circuit, Linda was a Hollywood stuntwoman before going pro at her favorite pastime, Pepe is a green-skinned alien who has spend his life mastering the game since his crash landing years ago, Cheng, an ex-martial artist who has turned his skills to darts, as well as Granny, Pee Wee, Peter and Nikita. Pro Darts is only compatible with the Game Boy Color.
