It is the 19th century, a romantic era, where superstitions and legends are alive and powerful. With dreams of vast fortunes, adventurers from all walks of life seek the legendary Power Stone, a magical jewel that will make any wish come true. Eight adventurers have agreed to battle for this powerful stone. There is the pilot and boxing champion Falcon, the mysterious and graceful fortune-teller Rouge, and an experienced kung-fu warrior named Wang-Tang. Others include Ryoma who, armed with a katana, is ready to cut foes down to size; Ayame, a fun-loving secret ninja; Gunrock, the heavy tank miner; mad clown Jack, who has a passion for anything with a bit of shine; and Galuda, whose search for the stone will determine the survival of his people. Power Stone is a 3D fighting game that allows players to move in all directions within fully interactive environments. Poles, barrels, bins, bombs, guns, missile launchers and more can be picked up and used against opponents by simply tapping the Y button. Perhaps the most notable part of the fighting system is collecting the three power-up stones, which cause the character to power up into a superhuman creature for a short period of time. Game modes include Arcade (like the coin-op version, in this mode you must fight your way through all the basic characters before meeting the pirate and demon bosses), Versus (two-player mode where the stage is selectable), Match Play (the first player to drop the opponent's vitality to zero wins), as well as the Winning & Losing and Time Up modes. Options in Power Stone include a selection of eight difficulty levels and the ability to set time limits, damage levels, sound, vibration, button configurations and more. Players can also earn hidden characters, additional options, extra weapons and other secret features by completing the game under a variety of conditions.
