Now you can play One-on-One Basketball, starring Hall of Famers Julius "Dr. J" Erving and Larry Bird, on your Atari 7800. Just like in the original Electronic Arts computer game, this version lets you or you and a friend play as either superstar. Your capabilities will reflect those of the actual players. For example: if you lace up your sneakers as Larry Bird, you'll have a better outside shot; if you choose to control the high-flying Julius Erving, you're more likely to score on a dunk shot. There are four levels of difficulty in this game: Park & Rec, Varsity, College, and Pro. You can play One-on-One for a set amount of time, or you can play a game until one player reaches a specific score. If you select "Winner's Outs," the player who makes a basket gets to stay on offense. "Loser's Outs" gives the other player the ball. Other features familiar to basketball fans include steals, charging, shot clock violations, hacking, blocking, instant replays, and reaching in. If you run and jump continuously without resting your player, you'll become fatigued. A tired player isn't as quick and is more likely to miss a shot than a fresh or rested player. Dribbling slowly and in place or calling time-out lets both players rest.
