Measuring slightly larger than a shirt pocket but packing all the capability of devices twice its size, the tiny 3-ounce Novatel MiFi 4510L Wireless N router mobile hotspot connects multiple devices, such as cell phones, tablets, and computers, to the Verizon 4G LTE network. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is one of the fastest networks available. This router provides a wireless hub so that users are able to search the web with Google, download email, or take part in online gaming, all with Verizon Wireless 4G LTE signal speed. The 4510L is a reliable mobile hotspot device, which is one of the reasons the MiFi was voted one of PC Mag’s Best Products of 2011 for its reliability and connection speeds. Even when there are no signs of Internet nearby, the Novatel MiFi picks up a signal so everyone who is using the mobile broadband stays connected. The MIFi 510L Wireless Router connects up to five different Wi-Fi enabled devices to the web through the Verizon 4G LTE network. The Novatel MiFi 4510L Wireless Router has a highly visible status display showing signal strength and battery life. The external display also shows how many devices are connected to the mobile hotspot network with a lighted dot to represent each device. The 4510L also has a port for an external antenna. Charge the router with a USB cable, or it plug it into the wall to charge the battery. When the MiFi’s battery is charging with the microUSB wall charger, the device still transmits wireless data. The MiFi 4510L is very easy to use. After turning on the device and waiting approximately 30 seconds for the MiFi to connect to the Verizon Wireless Network, it automatically appears in the available Wi-Fi connections on whatever electronic device is being used. The connection process is the same as with any other wireless connection. The 4510L features 100 feet of mobile hotspot range; however, as with most other mobile hotspot routers, it is best to stay within a 50-foot perimeter when using Wi-Fi. An automatic shutdown is the power management option for the 4510L mobile hotspot device. An initial password is provided in the materials sent with the MiFi 4510L. A web-based administrator’s panel allows users to change a password and update any software with compatible 4G LTE firmware from Verizon.
