Ms. Frizzle and her class are back! This time, Arnold has lost four samples from his rock collection. To find the missing items, the magic bus takes off on another field trip where kids visit six geological zones: a canyon, an underwater volcano, a giant fault, a cavern, a land volcano, and the inside of a crystal. In each geological zone, children can see slide shows and videos on the area, or can exit the bus to explore and collect rock samples. The analysis of the samples is the best part of the program. First, kids examine the samples at the Geo Table to see whether the substances are rock or mineral igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary. Next, children perform a series of tests until the rocks are identified. Sometimes the analysis will turn up one of Arnolds missing rocks or minerals. Other times, children will have to take the samples to the Transformer or the Kitchen to get to the bottom of the mystery. In the Transformer, samples are converted back into original substances.
