NotesConsidered a big band classic, Mercy, Mercy (recorded live in '68 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas), was also Rich's best selling record. Although radio initially latched on to their version of Joe Zawinul's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy," it is the 13-minute "Channel 1 Suite" by Bill Reddie that made the album a collector's item. This CD debut is newly remixed and introduces 3 unissued tunes including Billy Strayhorn's "Chelsea Bridge." Art Pepper, Don Menza and Walt Nemuth are heavily featured throughout.
