Author BiographyDr. Sikun Lan earned his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Applied Mathematics at UCLA. He has worked for three public companies (Citigroup, Zenith Insurance, ReachLocal) for 18 years in IT, banking, insurance, and internet marketing. He has extensive experience in management, technology, teaching, and non-profit organization leadership. During the past three years, Dr. Lan successfully managed a startup company with dozens of multi-cultural employees and contractors who live in different cities, states and countries. He cares about company culture, focuses on teamwork, helps employees grow, and encourages teachers to pursue their teaching careers. Every month, Dr. Lan travels between U.S. and China meeting students and teachers and employees, giving lectures and interviews, and establishing partnerships with educational and, technology companies as well as government entities. He provides free and/or charitable person education advice to students and invites students and parents to watch professional basketball and hockey games in Los Angeles' Staples Center.
