The Windows and Linux compatible Logitech T400 Zone Touch Mouse is a dynamic tool for use with your desktop, laptop, tablet, or gaming computer. This wireless optical mouse was designed with Microsoft Windows 8 in mind, but works well with Windows 7 and Linux systems as well. The Logitech T400 Zone Touch Mouse is intuitively designed with traditional left, right, and center buttons as well as a touch zone for easy left-right and up-down scrolling. The center button is integrated into the touch zone with the left and right peripherals in classic positions. The touch zone is an upgrade from a traditional scroll wheel, allowing you to scroll horizontally on the display and supporting the touch gestures tech of Windows 8. Pressing the bottom part of the touch zone will allow you to access the Windows 8 Start screen. The T400 is designed in order to take advantage of some of the many other features of Windows 8 as well, like shortcuts, gestures, and zoom. Included with the Logitech T400 mouse are two AA batteries that will keep your mouse running for up to 18 months and a Logitech unifying receiver, capable of connecting to any device with the proper driver. The unifying receiver is easily installed into a USB port on your device and connects to your Logitech T400 Mouse, as well as up to five other wireless mice or keyboards with compatible drivers. Turn on your mouse and plug in your unifying receiver to a USB port on your device, and they will be paired in moments. You will also be prompted to install Logitech SetPoint software to improve your experience and help you fix any problem you may encounter. Installing this software will allow you to update your preference for each function of the mouse. You can also monitor remaining battery life, remove devices you no longer want paired to the unifying receiver, check the signal strength of each connected device, and update the SetPoint software version. Once you install the software, you can access these settings at any time in your Windows 8 system notification center. The compatibility and specs of the Logitech T400 mouse make it a good piece of hardware for the price.
