The Master of Polyester is back in another Leisure Suit Larry adventure by Al Lowe. This is the first Leisure Suit Larry game to feature high-resolution graphics and the improvement over its immediate predecessor is tremendous. Once again, players take the role of Larry Laffer, a loser who seems oblivious to certain real-world conventions. Larry is stuck in the somewhere between 1977 and 1982. Worse, he thinks he is an object of universal sexual desire, while the truth is quite the opposite. In reality, he's lucky if the women he meets find him amusing instead of just plain offensive. Larry is on a vacation cruise in this episode. The objective in Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail is to win the affections of the cruise ship's commander, Captain Thygh. Larry's only chance of even catching the eye of the beautiful Captain Thygh is to win events in the "Thygh's-Man Trophy" competition. Some of the events in which Larry must participate to win the trophy (and Captain Thygh's attention) are the Best Dressed competition, the Sexual Prowess contest, the Bake-Off, and the Craps game. Since Larry is far too much of a loser to win in any of these events on his own merit, he'll have to cheat. The player's job is to help him figure out the best way to do that.
