NotesOriginal soundtrack to the 2015 documentary showcasing revolutionary jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius. Features classic solo and Weather Report tracks plus new recordings by TechN9ne, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Robert Trujillo of Metallica and Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers as Mass Mental. The innovative musician Jaco Pastorius (1951-1987) revolutionized bass guitar in the 1970s and 1980s not unlike how Jimi Hendrix changed the sound of the guitar in the 1960s. To commemorate his short but incredible career, Pastorius is the subject of Jaco. Produced by Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Jaco features rare and unreleased footage of Pastorius and interviews with fans and collaborators including Sting, Herbie Hancock, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bootsy Collins and Joni Mitchell. A rare piece of music history.
