This Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.2 GHz processor is also suitable for digital photography and digital video processing. Built using a 45-nm process on the Yorkfield processor core, this quad-core processor with over 800 million transistors has a true 64-bit data path. With the main bus running at 1600 MHz, and with four cores, each with its own thread, the Intel QX9770 can handle simultaneous operations with ease. This Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.2 GHz processor is a true 64-bit processor benefiting from 2x 6 MB eight-way set associative L2 caches with four L1 caches, each for data and instructions. It has an 8x multiplier which can be adjusted by the user, but extreme caution must be advised as higher clock settings will increase the speed at which the chip heats up. This Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.2 GHz processor has a surface area of just 3.75 cm (1.48 inches) square and fits into a Socket 775 (LGA775) motherboard.
