Fill your server with IBM 8GB 10600R registered memory modules. These DDR3 RDIMMs provide you both the benefits of ECC and registered RAM for maximum stability in high memory environments. Most memory is unregistered, the data flows directly to the RAM chip; registered memory adds a buffer, or register, between the memory module and the memory controller. This can cause a performance hit, but it's more stable when you have a lot of memory in the system. Before installing it, be sure your motherboard is equipped to work with RDIMMs as not all computers support registered memory. It may not matter much for gamers, but a set of 8 GB 49Y1397 RAM sticks can do wonders for your server.
