The Harman Kardon AVR 146 5.1 Channel 40 Watt Receiver packs HDMI switching and extra front panel inputs into a unit that delivers powerful and clean audio for a home entertainment system. The main distinguishing feature of the Harman Kardon AVR 146 A/V receiver is the HDMI switching. HDMI switching allows this receiver to be connected to audio and video components that feature an HDMI output. Two SimPlay HD-verified HDMI inputs on the Harman/Kardon AVR 146 accept the HDMI output source of digital audio or video devices; then the AVR 146 switches the video feed and sends the audio straight through to the display. When the equipment is installed in this way, the user can then also connect the audio output of those devices using the three digital audio inputs on the Harman Kardon AVR 146. The front panel also houses the tuning mode toggle button that selects between manual and automatic. The automatic setting is an FM seek function. There are also preset station selection buttons.
