NotesUK reissue. An incredibly prolific songwriter, having penned more than 500 songs, usually in conjunction with Howard Greenfield, Neil Sedaka is also one of the most successful. His compositions have provided hits for the likes of Connie Francis, Jimmy Clanton, Gene Pitney, Frankie Valli and Patti Drew. He has also enjoyed a hugely successful recording career of his own, notching up 11 Top 40 US hits between 1958 and 1962 alone. Of these, seven made the Top 10. This sixteen track compilation, arranged in chronological order, contains all of those Top 40 hits as well as his other single releases from the same period. It is an interesting collection that offers further proof that Neil Sedaka was an artist ahead of his time.
