A self-described member of the hybrid "spy-fi" genre, Global Agenda is a massively multiplayer online shooter in which players take control of an elite special forces operative armed with high-tech weaponry. The game is set in 2155, after a third world war gives rise to an oppressive world government known as the Commonwealth, and war perpetually rages over dwindling land and resources. Gamers select from Assault, Medic, Recon, and Robotics classes when creating an agent, while RPG-style leveling allows each class to earn access to better weapons and technology. There are more than 100 different devices to acquire, from jetpacks and deployable turrets to stealth suits and robotic droids, and the leveling system is designed to give high-ranking characters more weapons options, rather than making them significantly more powerful than low-level foes. Global Agenda supports both PvP and PvE combat, with four players working as a team in online missions, and those who purchase a subscription can participate in larger battles where the goal is to form teams, compete for scarce resources, and conquer and upgrade persistent territories and facilities.
