The 5H152-50 high-density 10/100Base-TX switching module provides 48 10/100 Ethernet ports and one flexible uplink option slot with RJ45 and RJ21 connectors, respectively. The option slots may be populated with 2-port Gigabit uplink modules, 5PIMS, which enable connections to end users, servers and backbone devices. The module is standards-based, supporting the IEEE 802.1Q VLAN specification, and is capable of priority queuing, assuring that high-priority traffic, such as voice and video applications, is delivered.While possessing a strong feature set, this cost-effective, high-density module also delivers the throughput and scalability required to support emerging bandwidth-intensive multimedia applications. Specifically designed to scale to the demands of high-usage and converged networks, the 5H152-50 incorporates line-rate forwarding performance. And because the module has the ability to snoop IGMP packets and distribute multicast traffic, it can allow for more efficient use of bandwidth when running voice and video applications.
