Loosely based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe, Murders in the Rue Morgue is a hidden object game set in 19th century Paris that has you assisting the detective C. Auguste Dupin in a murder investigation. Search through kitchens, bedrooms, hallways, and other locales while discovering keys leading to new areas. Complete mini-games to crack various locks and interview suspects to piece together the mystery. Two difficulty settings include regular, which features a quick-charging hint meter, and expert, which has a slower charging hint meter. The collector's edition of the game includes a bonus room with additional items to find, five wallpapers, one screensaver, three songs from the soundtrack, concept art, and the original short story that can either be viewed directly within the game itself or saved as a Word document.
