Author BiographyThe Author and Artist of the Curious Carter Books Series was born in Oxford, North Carolina to parents Walter and Harriet Green. She is one of nine children. Jackson studied Intermediate Education with a focus in Art at the Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC. In 1980 she moved to Maryland to be a criminal sketch artist for the FBI but would take a job at the U. S. Census Bureau instead where she retired after 31.5 years. Her accomplishments: Honorary Bachelor's Degree, Best Dressed, Most Talented, Master's Certificate in Project Management {GWU), a Bronze Medal from the agency, served on the Board of Directors Census Childcare Center, and the Section 508 Council. Under the Maryland Women's Business Institute opened a Children's Art Program (featured in the Washington Post). Both teachers and parents say the Carter books are fascinating stories. Now in Spanish and in chapter book format for teens, they make great plays. The fiction books with a hint of non-fiction takes advantage of real life situations told by a little boy through his dreams. Curious Carter learns he is unique without that one missing bone from his spinal cord and dreams of finding the courage to confront a bully. You will love these stores! They are a little detailed as the author did not want to lose the thought process and imagine of persons with autism and other challenges. Jackson's writing style caught the attention of legendary boxers Sugar Ray Leonard, Roger (the Dodger) Leonard and his wife Gail Leonard. Ms. Jackson has one daughter, Cortney R Jackson and two grandchildren, Carter K Jackson, and Charlee R Coachman. She enjoys walking, dancing, music, painting, reading self-help books, and spending quiet time in her North Carolina home. So get curious!
